We are pleased to inform you that the Board of Directors will consider a proposed amendment and extension of Rabbi David Wolpe's contract as Senior Rabbi of Sinai Temple, at a meeting of the Board of Directors on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Gold Hall.
The proposed amendment and extension has been unanimously approved by the Contracts Committee of the Board and will be presented to the Board on January 10th for its action.
Section 10.3 (a) of the Synagogue’s Bylaws provides that:
“No contract, whether the initial contract or a successive contract, with any Senior Rabbi, shall be entered into, amended, extended, or allowed to expire by its terms (except in the case of the Rabbi’s resignation or expressed decision not to renegotiate or continue to serve the Synagogue), nor shall any such contract be valid or binding on the Synagogue unless, in the manner required for giving notice of a special meeting of the Board, stating the time and place of the meeting of the Board at which such subject will be discussed.”
All synagogue members in good standing are welcome to attend the special meeting and may express their views on the proposed contract amendment and extension in writing or orally. We welcome your attendance and comments.
